21. Kosta Barbarouses (Melbourne Victory)

The fact that perhaps the most underrated of Victory’s attacking front four comes in at number 21 speaks volumes to their potency, but that is just the case. Kosta Barbarouses was unplayable at times last season and will be looking terrorise left backs across the league once more.

Scoring five goals in 24 total appearances Barbarouses pipped club legend, Archie Thompson to a starting position last season and was more often the chief creative threat than goalscorer. Creating 25 chances for team-mates, five of which were converted to assists, Barbarouses’ rapid acceleration and tight control means he is able to go past plays with ease.

The Kiwi international experienced a personal season highlight when he netted an outstanding volley against cross-town rivals Melbourne City. If he is able to become a more regular goalscorer, Barbarouses could climb into the top 20 by this time next year.
