Perth Glory defender Alex Grant has admitted there’s a “great buzz” out west around Perth Glory’s aspirations for the forthcoming A-League season.

Glory have reached one A-League grand final where they were controversially downed by Brisbane Roar, but hopes are growing that the upcoming season could see the drought broken.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Football Show, Grant says hopes are high in Perth.

“You’e got to go into every season looking to finish as high as possible,” he said.

“With the recruitment this year, it’s been really positive to see a lot of local lads come back.

“I don’t think we were anticipating it to happen quite so soon, I think it was always in the works for it to eventually happen.

“It’s fallen into place perfectly for the gaffer and the other members of staff.

“There’s a great buzz … but we can’t get carried away at the moment, it’s still early doors.

“It’s still preseason, the season hasn’t started, so as soon as we start getting some results on the board and pick up some momentum, that’s when we can concentrate on doing some great things this year.”
