Expansion. An issue that can rouse any Australian football fan into hours of debate, and the team at the Daily Football Show thought we’d facilitate this debate. 

Over the past couple of months, each Wednesday the Daily Football Show team have looked at some of the leading candidates for A-League expansion.

So far, the series aptly titled ‘A-League NEXT’, has looked at South Melbourne, Wollongong, North Queensland, Ipswich, Canberra and the Gold Coast, with more to come!

Sixth cab off the rank – Geelong!

Former Socceroo and local advocate Steve Horvat spoke Mark van Aken and Chris Hearn about the regional area’s case for their own A-League team. With a successful AFL club in the Geelong Cats, stadia and the investor backing, they seem like a serious contender!
