Expansion. An issue that can rouse any Australian football fan into hours of debate, and the team at the Daily Football Show thought we’d facilitate this debate. 

Over the past couple of months, each Wednesday the Daily Football Show team have looked at some of the leading candidates for A-League expansion.

So far, the series aptly titled ‘A-League NEXT’, has looked at South Melbourne, Wollongong, North Queensland, Ipswich, Canberra, Geelong, Southern Sydney and the Gold Coast.

Eighth cab off the rank – Tasmania!

We speak with CEO of Football Federation Tasmania Mike Palmer, a man with a decorated CV in sport, including working with FIFA at the World Cup, Champions League, Commonwealth Games and the AFL.

They’re not quite ready now or perhaps even within the short-term, but here’s a man with some brilliant ideas on how it could work, which includes a model on promotion/relegation.
