Wellington Phoenix stalwart Andrew Durante is so important to his side and has been a constant and reliable fixture in the heart of defence.
The captain played in every match last season and has gone on an incredible run of playing in 54 consecutive games. That level of steadfastness in defence was a key to Wellington’s great run in 2014-15. Durante forms one half of one of the most experienced defensive partnerships in the league and is an outstanding leader for his side.
The Phoenix will hope to qualify for and progress further through the finals series this season after a disappointing loss to Melbourne City in the first week of finals and Durante will play a large role in getting them there.
