  1. Thomas Broich (Brisbane Roar)

Just missing out on the top 10 is Brisbane Roar’s marquee man Thomas Broich. An injury plagued season 2014-15 which included midseason surgery on his ankle saw the German play only 17 games of the campaign and score a single goal.

The 34-year-old’s importance to the Roar has been shown time and time again over the five years he has spent in Brisbane. New Roar coach John Aloisi will need the German to be at his best to kick start a turnaround in the Roar’s on-field fortunes after a disappointing campaign last season.

Roar’s midfield maestro has consistently exuded class in the centre of the park, with opposition players unable to nullify his influence in Brisbane’s attack. With two Johnny Warren Medals and a Joe Marston medal to his name, a successful campaign from Broich could spell a successful campaign for the Roar.
