Season 2015-16 will be Nikolai Topor-Stanley’s 10th in the A-League and, arguably, one of the most important.
The phenomenal success of the Western Sydney Wanderers’ Asian Champions League win was followed by an incredibly disappointing domestic season were the club finished ninth, one point above wooden spoon winners Newcastle. However, Topor-Stanley was a positive last campaign, winning the club’s Player of the Year award.
Topor-Stanley has been a mainstay in the heart of the Wanderers’ defence since the club’s inception in 2012-13 and the tall defender has been instrumental in Western Sydney’s successful start to life as an A-League club.
The Wanderers’ winning ways were built on a strong defensive structure and Topor-Stanley was and will continue to be pivotal in that.
