QPR lost their second West London derby of the season last night after a narrow 1-0 at the hands of Brentford.

Massimo Luongo hit the woodwork twice for the visitors, but it was Bees’ striker Marco Djuricin who scored the only goal, in what was Brentford’s first victory over Rangers since 1965. The win makes it four on the trot for Lee Carsley’s men, who now sit in 10th on the Championship table, one point above QPR.

Chris Ramsey

There is an ugly atmosphere seeping out of Loftus Road and Chris Ramsey stands at the epicentre. Again this week fans have vented their frustration on social media after witnessing what many believe to be a manager tactically inept. Ramsey’s decision to start Daniel Tozser and Karl Henry has been castigated in the last couple of weeks, with both players giving poor performances. Last night was again much the same; Henry in particular never looking like a player with a desire to push forward or pick a pass. The fact that Ramsey also continues to play the aging Henry and loanee Tozser really does not align with his desire to improve team cohesion and give youthful prospects a chance.

The Rangers’ manager also is developing a habit of substituting the players who look most dangerous. Massimo Luongo, who has been one of QPR’s best in recent games, was taken off on 67 minutes. Chances then disappeared in the last 20 and they never looked like finding an equaliser.
