Massimo Luongo

Since being dropped to the bench at Bolton, Luongo has come back with more determination than ever. He has been a standout and along with Jay Emmanuel Thomas and Clint Hill, show the pure grit and determination necessary for success in the Championship.

The Australian international was unlucky after he got his head on the end of a Matt Phillips cross, only to hit the corner of the cross bar and upright. Four minutes later he went even closer, after cutting inside and hitting across David Button, Luongo left the far post rattling.

The midfielder also seems to have shaken-off his early season nerves. Each touch of the ball at Griffin Park was composed and his goalward intentions were always clear. The Brentford backline made things hard for him in the second-half with some tight marking, however, he was definitely one of the most exciting players on the pitch.
