Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says the side must be ruthless and shake any signs of complacency after his team’s 1-1 draw against Cologne.

Anthony Modeste handed the visitors a share of the points with a smart volley, after Joshua Kimmich opened the scoring for the Bavarians.

Following the match Neuer was not pleased with his team’s efforts after they took the lead.

“You must not be too sure [of yourself] when one team is the German champions playing at 95% against an opponent waiting only for their chance,” the Bayern captain told the media post-match.

“We need to make the most of such dominance. We have not kept up the pace in the second half and the opponent shows just what is possible through counter-attacks.

“We have to halt the enemy in attack and make sure we let nothing slip if we have a home game at Allianz Arena and lead 1-0.”

Despite the draw, Bayern still remain top of the table, three points clear of second placed Hertha Berlin with Borussia Dortmund a further point back.
