Tim Cahill was the star once more as Australia cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Bangladesh in Dhaka earlier tonight.
With the result all but decided at halftime, the Socceroos sauntered through the latter stages at a much more casual pace after the iconic striker netted a hat-trick in the opening 45 minutes. Job done and onto the next game in the New Year for Ange Postecoglou and his squad.
Risdon’s Debut Goes Smoothly
The Perth Glory fullback had possibly one of the easiest debuts imaginable for a defender. He spent more time in the Socceroos attacking-third than he did tracking Bangladesh’s wingers and put several crosses into the box. Depending on how it is credited, he may find himself rewarded with an assist for Cahill’s second goal. While his next appearance may yield a slightly tougher test, it will be certainly satisfying for the time being.
