The Socceroos continue to take positive steps on the road to Russia 2018, recording a 4-0 away victory to Bangladesh earlier tonight.
While young upstarts such as Aaron Mooy and Massimo Luongo are always exhibiting the evolution in Ange Postecoglou’s setup, on the day after the 10th anniversary of ‘That Night’ where Australia qualified for the 2006 World Cup, we had no further to look than the heroic veteran Tim Cahill.
A first-half hat-trick from the 35-year-old had the match all but over early-on, though captain Mile Jedinak was able to squeeze his own name onto the scoresheet before the referee signaled for the interval.
