Bangladesh Looked Slightly More Comfortable

After being thoroughly dominated in Perth earlier on in the group stage, Bangladesh looked like they were in for another long night as the Socceroos had them pinned down in their own-half early on. For a rather brief period in the early-going they even looked confident on the ball. Spurred on by an initially vocal home crowd they held the ball and moved it around at a decent pace in the search for an equaliser. Of course when the second, third and fourth goals went in a sense of normality was restored to the stadium, but there was never any fear in the play from the hosts.

Second-half training run

A slightly lethargic second-half saw the Socceroos scrap through to the end of the match, Mooy and Luongo were withdrawn at the break to give James Troisi and Tommy Oar some game time. The intensity and drive of the first-half was lacking, perhaps deliberately as the team wanted to get through without injury.
