AS Roma took on defending champions Barcelona in the Champions League and earned a very creditable 1-1 draw at a packed Stadio Olimpico.
Luis Suarez opened the scoring after 21 minutes from close range but 10 minutes later, Alessandro Florenzi levelled proceedings with a superb effort from 50 yards out to spoil Lionel Messi’s 100th game in the competition.
The result leaves both sides with one point in Group E, with Barcelona hosting Bayer Leverkusen and Roma travelling to BATE in the next round.
