Torino the greater of the two Turin clubs

The last time Torino was able to reign supreme in Turin, it was all the way back in the mid 1970’s, when Torino and Juve locked horns to decide the 1975/76 title. These memories, as well as those if the Scudettos further back in the 1940’s, destroyed by the infamous Superga air disaster, are treasured moments for Torino.

Now, I Granata find themselves third on the table after a fantastic start to the current season and eight points ahead of their town rivals Juventus. Memories can come flooding back, can’t they?

La Viola have now become serious contenders

Fiorentina had been flying under the radar up until matchday six, a round that saw them venture to the San Siro and completely dismantle an unbeaten Inter Milan side 4-1. The win sees Fiorentina move to the top of the table, sitting comfortably and, now, firmly on the radar of all the Serie A clubs.

Croatian forward Nikola Kalinic scored a hat trick in the victory, a titanic effort considering Inter Milan had only conceded one goal in the first five games of the season.
