Celta taught Barca a lesson in passing football

Celta were phenomenal against Barca. The hosts passed their opponents off the park and could and perhaps should have won by an even wider margin. The midfield pairing of Nemanja Radoja and Daniel Wass ran the show against an uncharacteristically out-of-sorts Andres Iniesta, who was hugely wasteful in possession, and Sergi Roberto, who looked like a player that has been forced to play out of position lately. Celta top La Liga and they are truly a breath of fresh air, not only taking on Barca at their own game but beating them at it.

Celta are immune to Messi’s magic

Of all the current La Liga sides, Celta Vigo are the team that Lionel Messi has scored the fewest against – now three goals in nine matches. Messi had his chances in this match, including a couple of sitters by his standards in the second half, but was thwarted time and again by inspired Celta goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez.
