Stoke earn respite from relegation zone
Stoke City have had a less than spectacular start to the Premier League season and even came into this clash as the underdogs.
Stoke were in the relegation zone before the weekend, having failed to pick up a single win over their first six fixtures and only managing to claw a single point from their first three home games.
Because of the Potters’ below-par performances, manager Mark Hughes was starting to fall victim to some of the criticism that inherently follows poor performances in the Premier League.
All of these factors mean that this fixture carried with it a lot of pressure for Stoke to get back to their characteristic home form.
While their performance against a wounded Cherries side was enough to achieve that immediate goal, they still have a way to go if they are to avoid the drop come May.
