Callum Wilson synonymous with success at Bournemouth

The 23-year-old has been the number one attacking option for Eddie Howe this season and came into the game as the tied top goalscorer in the league.

But Wilson was tragically taken out of the game in the 15 minute after a seemingly innocuous fall later revealed itself to be a crippling knee injury.

Bournemouth looked to be their usual selves over the first 15 minutes of the match but looked a very different side after the removal of Wilson.

He is a major contributor to Bournemouth, not only with his goals, but with his hold-up play and enthusiasm to pressure opposition defenders. After he left the field, Bournemouth heads dropped – players and fans alike. His replacement, Glenn Murray, was unable to fill the large void left by the injured striker.

With Wilson’s return date still very unclear, Howe will be looking to players like Joshua King and more likely Matt Ritchie to take the reigns going forward in the absence Wilson.
