New look Manchester United will take time to gel
Manchester United, alike Liverpool, were lucky to record a victory having registered only one shot on target all game. It was not even their shot which scored, but rather an own goal from Kyle Walker which gave Louis van Gaal’s men the three points. Five of 11 Manchester United starting players were new recruits and also as Liverpool would attest to, new signings take time to gel. Long term success is the target, but at this stage by no means a certainty.
