They walked away with three points, but one shot on target from the 90 minutes means they were very lucky to do so. Christian Benteke performed well on his debut, but with Firmino starting on the bench and Sturridge still missing with injury, Liverpool have few players capable of consistently placing the ball in the back of the net. Time will tell just how badly they miss Raheem Sterling’s pace and creativity.
