Giroud will not lead Arsenal to the title
Perhaps surprisingly, Olivier Giroud was trusted ahead of Theo Walcott to lead the line during Arsenal’s opening fixture. Whilst he was not provided with any golden goalscoring opportunities by his teammates, he failed to capitalise on a number of half opportunities. The Frenchman’s lack of speed and at times heavy first touch means that he relies heavily on others for goalscoring opportunities. Arsenal needs a forward who can create his own chances. Expect Walcott to be starting up front next week.
