Having endured a disappointing 2014-15 campaign, Barkley endured a quiet offseason without the rumours of Manchester City and Chelsea planning bids of £50 million for him as per last year. The lack of confidence he portrayed at times last year were gone. He was confident in possession, always looking to move the ball forward and make things happen. His goal, a fantastic long-range effort, equalised for his side as they endured a difficult start against new boys Watford.
