Augsburg could not start their engine, especially up front

All round, it was a poor outing for Augsburg despite dashing out with a point. The only positive was the side’s decent passing for a 10-minute period. The worst part of the performance was the attack – the visitors could not trouble the home side in any way.

Augsburg produced just half a dozen forays forward and not one of those looked threatening to the Leverkusen goal. The vast majority of attacks were shut down by the Leverkusen defence with ease.

The attacking force of Alexander Esswein, striker Raul Marcelo Bobadilla and Halil Altintop managed just two off-target attempts at the Leverkusen goal.
