It was another exciting week of Premier League action, with 32 goals scored from 95 shots on target and 271 overall.
The way was led, of course, by Manchester City, who thumped six past a hapless Newcastle, and their star Argentinian, Sergio Aguero. The ex-Atletico hit man was in lethal form, putting on a five-star display. For the record, City still lead the overall goal charts with 19 this season.
Across the league, there were doubles from the sensational feet of Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and Arsenal’s Chilean maestro Alexis Sanchez.
Interestingly, hat-tricks of goals were scored in the 45th and 60th minutes over the weekend. On the stroke of half time, Odion Ighalo, Carl Jenkinson and Romelu Lukaku all netted. On the hour-mark, Sadio Mane, Dimitri Payet and Aguero all found the back of the net.
There were 43 bookings dished out across the league, with six of those coming in the ever-fiesty Merseyside Derby. There was one red card, handed to Sunderland winger Jermain Lens.
