Simone Pepe signals trouble

Rolando Maran continues to sweat on his Chievo team that left it to the last minute of normal time to get the job done over an impressive Frosinone, who’s attacking style of play is attractive on the eye.

Alberto Paloschi slotted home a penalty to put the away side in front, only then for Pepe to let his frustrations boil which resulted in two yellow cards in the space of ten seconds.

Luckily for the struggling attacking midfielder, Paloschi was then able to turn provider as Riccardo Meggiorini put the result beyond doubt three minutes later.

Luca Toni bids farewell

At 39 years of age and spending a chunk of the current season on the sidelines due to injury, Toni has decided to retire at the end of the season. His Verona could not get any points in their clash at home against an Empoli side that is slowly climbing the ladder.

Last season’s Capocannoniere winner will be hoping to help keep his team in the Serie A for next season, however this will be a tough task as the side is without a win in 15 matches.

Toni has a World Cup to his name along with top goalscoring gongs in both Europe and Serie A.
