A game that should have been an easy ride home for Bologna ended up being a nail-biter with the hosts almost letting a three-goal lead slip entirely as they defeated Napoli 3-2 at Dall’Ara Stadium.

Although Napoli held majority of the ball, Bologna dominated the score board for over an hour of the match before a late Higuain double in three minutes gave Napoli hope of getting a point against a Bologna side who were in the relegation zone coming into this match.

However, Mattia Destro had other ideas for the league leaders and broke their unbeaten streak, dating back to the end of August. It ended up being a high-quality game that Napoli was expected to win and probably should have had they finished some earlier chances in the game.

It was a deserved win for Bologna though, that will now pull them out of the relegation zone for now and put them in equal 13th spot on the ladder.

Napoli DESTROyed by one man

The win to Bologna, which is what this game was; not a Napoli loss, can be pretty much put down to the work of one man from the Bologna team and that is Mattia Destro.

Scoring two goals for Bologna and absolutely tearing the Napoli defence apart almost every time he touched the ball, Destro took Napoli to the cleaners. Every touch was class and looked like it could have an impact.

In the end Napoli just couldn’t stop him.
