Napoli’s unbeaten run ends
Napoli’s 18 game unbeaten streak across all competitions is now over after being beaten by an 18th placed Bologna. In a game they were fancied to win, Napoli – despite keeping a number of clean sheets – have looked shaky in defence and this was the case against Bologna.
The Napoli wing-back strategy of throwing their full-backs into the attack cost them with the central defenders not tracking well enough, letting Destro do what he wanted.

Other teams should take a note on how to pick Napoli apart
There were a number of factors which helped Bologna beat Napoli. The key was their counter attack. Having Destro playing as a flat out, lone striker meant he was the one who had to keep possession and he did that when Bologna weren’t sending long flighted balls through.
Another key aspect was having midfielders or a striker run from well before the defensive line since the Napoli central defenders do not track runs from the midfield well.
