Action-packed clash in Genoa

Entertainment is the word most fans will use after walking away from this match. Early red cards, goalscoring chances and late drama.

Clumsy play from Diego Perotti and Domenico Berardi saw them dismissed just before the break and just after Tomas Rincon lit up the home side with some wonderful skill just outside the area.

Francesco Acerbi then silenced the home crowd with less than two minutes of injury time remaining and the visitors looked like taking all three points. Leonardo Pavoletti had other ideas, however, heading home a long ball from the kick-off which sent the home fans into raptures. One of the matches of the season so far.

The blue side of Rome struggling

Lazio’s indifferent form continued with their home match against Palermo. An interesting decision by Stefano Pioli to start Antonio Candreva was one of the talking points.

It was Federico Marchetti who deserved all the credit for the home side escaping with a point, making seven saves to deny Palermo a winning goal after they managed a rather fortunate penalty in the second half to even up the score.
