Ex-Juventus team mates clash

Luca Marrone has been a key part of the Carpi midfield during 2015 in what must feel like a difficult job at times. The on-loan Juventus midfielder has been solid without producing anything spectacular during the season and it was this week where he would encounter a fellow Bianconeri team mate.

Simone Pepe spent as much time on the sidelines at Juventus as Marrone but for very different reasons, with injury plaguing his time in Turin. Pepe has had a tough time breaking into the Chievo starting XI, mainly used as a second half substitute with no real effect.

Costly slip up in Florence

A tale of two halves was the way to describe the match between Fiorentina and Empoli. The home side would have penciled in three points before the match began, but the away side had other ideas.

It was Empoli who got off to a brilliant start and were leading 2-0 at half time, with some fantastic displays of skill in both goals. Turn to the second half where La Viola dominated the possession and forced the Empoli defence into two mistakes that in-form Nikola Kalinic was all but happy to pounce on.

Wins to Inter Milan and Napoli caused them to leap frog Fiorentina who now sit third.
