Football or 1500m freestyle?

Bologna and Roma were met by a waterlogged pitch after walking out of the tunnel and although the pitch began in a playable yet soggy condition, the rain that followed during the match made the players display less of their football talent and more of their swimming abilities.

This seemed to rattle Roma as the home side took a 2-0 advantage into the break, only for the Giallorossi to make their way back into the match with two penalties, the game finishing 2-2.

Gigi vs Gigi

Juventus vs Milan is usually the fixture every Serie A fan looks forward to when the leagues season begins, however on this occasion, the teams took a back seat to the goalkeepers at both ends of the field.

Gianluigi Donnarumma has been brilliant between the sticks since he has taken over from Diego Lopez just a month ago at the age of just 16. This was the day he got to meet his namesake and hero, Gianluigi Buffon.

Buffon was present in a milestone of his own, marking 20 years playing in the Serie A. His first professional match for Parma was against Milan, and it was only fitting that the milestone was completed in the same way.
