Chelsea star Eden Hazard has taken aim after describing the 2015-16 campaign as “ugly” under former boss Jose Mourinho.

Speaking to French newspaper L’Equipe, Hazard said: “Conte puts trust in his players and now we are good after an ugly season last year.

“I’ve always been the same player but Conte knows how to treat players having played at the highest level himself.”

Hazard, 25, was one of the players singled out last season by Mourinho after a poor run of form, which led to reports of dressing room unrest, eventually leading to a termination of the Portuguese’s contract.

Under Antonio Conte, the Belgian attacker has improved his output, scoring twice in three matches this season and was praised for his performance at Euro 2016.

However, the diminutive attacker came under criticism for sub-par performances in the first half of the season, before showing improvement over Dutch interim boss, Guus Hiddink.

Chelsea travel to Wales this Sunday, facing Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, before hosting Liverpool the following Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
