Let’s talk about Ronaldo
Yes, another subheading about Ronaldo.
Well, in times of crises such as now for Real, it is imperative that the big-game players (pretty much the whole team) perform. Ronaldo did just that against Shakhtar.
The hosts did not truly try to unsettle the visitors which allowed them to keep their shape, claim possession in key areas and looked to place the Portuguese in key areas behind the hosts’ high line.
Ronaldo was making positive movements off the ball in an attempt to continually find space where he was able to exploit Shakhtar’s high line time and time again. He was of course relied upon to do exactly this, expose the defence.
Hence the four goals.
