Real Madrid have succumbed to their first loss of the season following a 3-2 defeat to an in-form Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium yesterday.

Welshman Gareth Bale returned to the side after an injury left him sidelined as Los Galacticos aimed to reclaim top position in the standings.

Indeed it was the visitors that took the lead with a bicycle-style goal from defender Sergio Ramos. While the Spaniard put Los Blancos in the lead, he injured his shoulder in the process and was replaced on the half-hour mark.

However the momentum shifted in the favour of the hosts whom equalised just before the half time whistle through Italian Ciro Immobile, his first for the club.

A stunning finish by Ever Banega put the Rojiblancos in the lead as they made the most of the inconsistent Real defence.

While there was a plethora of shots struck by both sides, it was the hosts who were clinical in the final third and it was not long before Fernando Llorente headed home for his side, sealing the victory.

Colombian international James Rodriguez scored late into injury time to give the visitors a consolation goal, but it was a case of too little too late.

Due to the loss, Barcelona sit three points clear of Real atop the standings.
