Aston Villa blew a 2-0 second half lead as Leicester City sensationally came from behind to win a frenzied encounter at the King Power Stadium.

The unbeaten Foxes moved up to second in the Premier League table after debutant Nathan Dyer completed a sterling 17-minute comeback in the 89th minute with a brave stooping header.

The away side controlled large parts of the game and looked to be heading for a second away win of the season when Carles Gil put the Villans 2-0 up with a brilliant curling finish from 25 yards. Jack Grealish had earlier broken the deadlock in the first half with another fine effort from distance following a goalmouth scramble.

But plucky Leicester refused to give in and turned the Midlands Derby on its head when Ritchie de Laet prodded the ball home on 72 minutes. The effort was confirmed by goal line technology and it sparked a wave of home attacks as the Foxes looked to once again expose Villa’s soft underbelly.

Jamie Vardy continued his impressive start to the season with an equaliser just 10 minutes later and Dyer’s late header sparked scenes of jubilation in the stands as Villa were left to ponder how they let all three points slip away.
