Villa midfield has goals in them
The Villa midfield has been challenged to score more goals by Sherwood and the returning Gil and Grealish were certainly bright spots in an otherwise bitterly disappointing afternoon for Villa. Both players scored technically excellent goals and troubled Leicester all game with their ease on the ball, trickery and good link-up play with Gabriel Agbonlahor.
Grealish needed his first Villa goal in the Premier League and, after getting off the mark, he will be hoping more quickly follow. If truth be told, he should have had a brace after being superbly teed up by Gil in the first half only to shoot tamely at the keeper. Nonetheless the introduction of these two will please Sherwood in the cold light of day on Monday morning.
