Paulo Dybala proves Allergi wrong

Much of the media hype post-Juventus’ midweek fixture against Borussia Monchengladbach has been dominated by comments made by Massimilano Allegri, on the topic of game time given to ex-Palermo striker Paulo Dybala.

Th coach has been quoted as saying, “he is still very young and does not yet full understand his role in the team” and “Juventus is much different than playing at Palermo”.

The 21-year-old took all of this information on board for the match against Atlanta, scoring a goal and assisting in Juventus’ second from Mario Mandzukic. He was adjudged man of the match, which has only added fuel to the discussion.

Domenico Berardi continues to haunt Milan

The Neroverdi looked to take advantage of a struggling Milan side and continue their good form. Even through Berardi has not had the same impact on the team as last season, there must be something about playing against Milan that he genuinely enjoys. Berardi has scored eight goals in the last six matches against the Rossoneri, his latest a fantastic free-kick in Sassoulo’s ultimate 2-1 defeat.

Goalkeepers dominate in Udine

Orestis Karnezis and Nicola Leali stole the show in Udine, an unusual set of events for a football match. Karnezis made two second-half saves to keep his Udinese team in the lead throughout the match, while Leali gave up the only goal due to a defensive miscommunication, but more than made up for it with six one-on-one stops to keep Frosinone alive.

Both side’s defensive frailties are proven when investigating the number of goals conceded so far for the season, standing at 11 equally. The number is still somewhat small, due to the heroics performed by both goalkeepers on a regular basis.
