Geoffrey Kondogbia’s close-range strike was the difference between the two sides, as Inter returned to the top of the Serie A standings momentarily.

Inter Milan have recorded their seventh 1-0 victory of the season, with Kondogbia’s goal on the half-hour mark settling the affair against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. The Frenchman’s first time hit sailed past Daniele Padelli in goal for Torino, after Rodrigo Palacio headed-on an attacking set piece for the away side.

The Granata threatened Samir Handanovic’s goal, however, a string of acrobatic saves ensured Roberto Mancini’s men escaped with all three points going into the international break.

Torino

Daniele Padelli – 6: Had little chance at saving the match’s only goal, yet was largely untroubled throughout the rest of the 90 minutes.

Gaston Silva – 6.5: Much like his goalkeeper, the 21-year-old Uruguayan had little to do throughout the match. When called upon, though, showed some sturdy defensive contributions.

Kamil Glik – 6: The Granata captain displayed his defensive attributes relatively well, however, often gave away possession needlessly.

Emiliano Moretti – 5.5: Was largely unconvincing in Giampiero Ventura’s three-man defensive unit. The veteran defender looked nervy against the Nerazzurri and was often caught out.

Bruno Peres – 6: Put in a decent shift on the right flank for il Toro. The Brazilian ran hard, but was unable to exert his influence upon the game.

Marco Benassi – 7: The 21-year-old put in an impressive display against his former employers, showing great skill and creativity. Was very unfortunate to see his long-range curled effort hit the crossbar before Inter took the lead.

Giuseppe Vives – 7.5: Putting in an assured display for the home side in the middle of midfield, the 35-year-old was arguably Torino’s best performer on the day, constantly making the correct decisions and asserting his strength on the opposition.

Daniele Baselli – 6: One of Serie A’s rising stars this season, the 23-year-old could not make as much of an impact as has been the case in previous weeks, with his execution often lacking quality.

Cristian Molinaro – 6: Much like Peres on the other flank, Molinaro worked hard yet did not have much of an influence on proceedings. The former VfB Stuttgart man also was slow in making forward passes.

Andrea Belotti – 6: The Italy under-21 international was given a rare start against Inter, however, could not capitalise on this opportunity as he failed to impress Ventura enough to warrant a regular starting berth.

Fabio Quagliarella – 6.5: Deprived of service for much of the game, though made good runs to get into dangerous positions.

Substitutes

Maxi Lopez – 5.5: Failed to prise open the Inter defence when brought on, and had little impact.
