Andrea Barzagli (Inter Milan vs Juventus)

The veteran Juventus defender lived up to his nickname of Il Muro (the wall) in the clash with Inter Milan and was the pick of the defenders from both sides.

Barzagli had an answer for everything Stefan Jovetic and Ivan Perisic threw at him and on the one occasion he was beaten, the 34-year-old showed he has not lost any speed by quickly chasing down Mauro Icardi on a breakaway play.

The defender has not seen much game time so far this season as a back four option has been preferred by Massimiliano Allegri, however, his professionalism is invaluable to Juventus in being able to do a job when required.

Stefano Sorrentino (Bologna vs Palermo)

Sorrentino stamped his authority on this match and used all of his experience to make a number of match winning saves against a Bologna side who enjoyed the majority of possession and chances to score.

The 36-year-old denied equalisers to Mattia Destro, Anthony Mounier and Luca Rizzo both early in the match and also in the second-half, which undoubtedly was the reason Palermo were able to take all three points.
