After parting ways with manager Scott Miller yesterday, Newcastle Jets have also terminated the contract of assistant coach, Luciano Trani.
Chief football writer for the Australian, Ray Gatt, revealed the news today, going on to say that Clayton Zane is set to take charge of training tomorrow.

The decision to dump Trani was taken because the club needs whoever comes in to the full-time position to have a clean slate to work with.

Trani, 51, clashed with Miller on a recent tour of China, with Jets owner Martin Lee initially looking to side with the assistant, however, the club will now have to deal with a coaching shake-up less than a month out from the A-League season.
Jets CEO Lawrie McKinna stated since Miller’s sacking, that the search for a coach will be to ensure that an Australian lands the role. The club released a statement today, where McKinna explained the reasons behind the decision to part ways with Trani: “We have chosen to give the Club’s new Head Coach the opportunity to appoint his own Assistant”.
“Luciano joined Newcastle Jets in June this year and has helped prepare the squad for the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 Season.
“We wish him well in his future endeavours,” he added.
