Devante Clut (Brisbane Roar)
An up-and-comer, not just for Brisbane but also for Australia. Clut first burst onto the scene when he scored a stunning volley on his debut against Wellington Phoenix in 2013, but since then he has made just eight appearances. Though with the departure of anchoring midfielder Luke Brattan imminent, Clut will have the chance to shine in the A-League this season. The 19-year-old has shown his quality time and time again with the limited playing time that he has had, scoring two stunning goals in the Asian Champions League against Suwon Bluewings, as well as two in a friendly against Villareal.
New Brisbane manager John Aloisi will be looking to restore Brisbane to its former glory and utilizing the mercurial talent of Clut will be central to this goal. The youngster will most likely form part of a three-man midfield for Brisbane, linking-up with captain Matt McKay and new Spanish signing Miguel Ángel García Pérez-Roldán, known as ‘Corona’. Clut has the A-League at his feet, the 19-year-old has a big future and this season will be crucial for him to make an impression on the A-League at such a young age.
