Victor Moses will need to find a permanent home soon.

Ever since his emergence at Wigan, Victor Moses has lived his professional life on the tremulous margins of elite football. Bought, as so many young starlets are, by Chelsea, he has spent loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke City, and now West Ham. He is a superb player, a tightly wound, twitching mass of muscle, with – as his goal showed – a powerful shot. He has been diligent in defence, incisive in attack, and deserves better than to float in the Chelsea loan-limbo. Another player on the pitch, Kevin de Bruyne, was suspended in that Chelsea loan-limbo too, and, while Moses isn’t as good as the Belgian, de Bruyne only flourished once he escaped it. It can’t be fun having to acclimatise to a new team every season, to have to gel with new teammates, only to leave a few months later. With Pedro arriving at Chelsea, and in spite of the fact that Moses signed fresh terms before his loan move to Upton Park, Moses’s chances at Chelsea seem remote. Based purely on the showing so far, he’d be very welcome in East London.
