Fox Sports football commentator Tara Rushton says Arsenal fans have serious reason to be optimistic this season after a promising off-season.
The Gunners defeated Chelsea 1-0 at the weekend to claim the FA Community Shield, with new keeper Petr Cech magnificent agains this old side and big factor behind Arsenal’s title push.
A passionate Arsenal fan, Rushton said despite the bias, all the key indicators are pointing to a successful season for Arsene Wenger’s men.
“Arsenal was the best team from January last year and let’s be frank, if they start well, they’re consistent and they’ve got Petr Cech in between the sticks…then that assurance at the back will be definitely enough to have them in the title race,” she said.
“If Alexis Sanchez is firing goals for fun then I definitely think a really good chance.”
“It’s obvious that Chelsea are the favourites but I really think it could be a two-horse race between Chelsea and Arsenal.”
Rushton also spoke less optimistically about Liverpool’s chances, Bournemouth’s stunning rise to Premier League football and much more EPL.
