City’s Champions League woes

While City look unstoppable in the Premier League, they continue to show signs of weakness in European competitions. To be fair to the Sky Blues, they have always been placed in tough groups and once again find themselves in one of the toughest groups, if not the toughest, in the competition. But that should not be an excuse for Manuel Pellegrini and his team considering they have been playing some eye-catching football this season and have spent big again. With such a talented squad that has the strength in depth to be strong competitors in all competitions, City should really be doing better. Having spent over £150 million this season alone, a home loss in the first Champions League fixture of the season is not something the fans would have expected.
