Manchester City have started their Premier League season in sublime fashion but they failed to replicate their form in their opening Champions League fixture against Juventus.

The Turin-based club came from a goal down to triumph 2-1 at the Etihad. While City had the opportunities to score more, they were wasteful and were punished by last season’s finalists. After a goalless first half, City managed to break the deadlock when Giorgio Chiellini put the ball in the back of his own net from a corner.

But the Italian Champions responded in typical fashion and piled pressure on City’s goal and were rewarded when Mario Mandzukic guided the ball past Joe Hart before Alvaro Morata scored with a beautiful curling effort in the last 10 minutes of the match. The loss at the Etihad will make it difficult for City in what is an already tough group.
