Sebastian Rode stars
There were a few star performers on the day, but none shone any brighter than that of Sebastian Rode. The 24-year-old midfielder ran the show against Darmstadt and was the catalyst for almost everything that Munich created moving forward. It was his energy and vision that allowed him to intelligently set up Coman for the second goal and was deservedly fortunate when the ball bounced back to him off of the post for him to put the result beyond doubt. It is unlikely that he will start against Wolfsburg on Tuesday, but his performance on Saturday should certainly put some thought into the mind of Pep Guardiola.
