Worst Three Performers

Jacques Faty (Sydney FC) – Red card with half an hour to go was just the tip of the iceberg. Lost the ball on more than a few occasions and just looked generally unsure tonight. Embarrassing fifteen seconds he would like to have over: broke the golden rule of defending by letting the ball bounce, mistimed two efforts to play the ball back to Vedran Janjetovic and then compounded that with a cynical pull-back on Berisha to earn his marching orders…will have to forget tonight and move on.

Rhyan Grant (Sydney FC) – To be fair to Grant, was up against a rampant Barbarouses tonight and didn’t get much support off his shoulder from either centre-half but definitely lost his battle tonight and at some key times. Defending in lead up to the goal was naïve and juvenile, left his feet and then dived in on Barbarouses who made him pay with a smart finish. A blemish on what has been a fine season for Grant to this point.

Filip Holosko (Sydney FC) – Not pleasant reading up to this part for any Sky Blue fans although their Slovakian marquee was absolutely nowhere to be seen tonight when he really needed to stand up. Has dealt with a huge amount of criticism this season, some of it unwarranted in the mind of this writer, but had to offer more than he did tonight – especially in a match as important as this one to the context of Sydney’s season.
