It’s not a dream anymore.
Leicester City are on course to achieve a remarkable Premier League title, only year after they produced a scintillating run of form to preserve their top-flight status.
The Foxes’ 1-0 victory against Southampton was plucky, but ultimately disciplined and deserved.
Claudio Ranieri’s men rode their luck when Sadio Mane rounded Kasper Schmeichel and had the goal at his mercy, only for Danny Simpson to inadvertently handle the ball and keep it out.
Leicester opened the scoring through captain Wes Morgan against the run of play and five minutes before the first half interval, when the centre-back connected powerfully to Christian Fuchs’ neat cross.
In the second period both teams created clear-cut opportunities, namely the guilt-edged miss from Danny Simpson whose horrible shot from point-blank range went straight at Fraser Forster with half of the goal gapping.
The home side held their nerve in the dying stages of the match, as their title dream became a distinct reality.

Full time: Leicester 1 Southampton 0. #LCFC seven points clear. They only need 12 more points – maximum – from final 6 games. Unbelievable.

Has there ever been a team as effective in the final third as Leicester City? They just always look dangerous. #LCFC

I find myself rooting for Leicester against my own will. Such a working class team. Relentless. And they'd be nothing without Kanté. #LCFC

I still can't believe that Leicester are going to be champions, whilst Newcastle are going down #LCFC #NUFC

Forget possession. #lcfc have controlled the second half. Really impressive. Seems almost impossible that this team will lose its nerve.

#LCFC back four to a man have been monumental. Wes Morgan my MOTM but Simpson and Fuchs run him close; Simpson maybe shades it HAD he scored

Without a doubt this is the best story in sports. We're getting close to it becoming the best story in the world.#LCFC

What a performance from both Kante and Drinkwater this is. Anybody criticising Drinkwater's inclusion in the England set up are daft! #LCFC

If there was any game to sum Leicester up this season that was it. Defend as a team attack as a team fight and determination #LCFC #saintsfc

Who would've thought an experienced Italian coach could put together a well-disciplined, organised unit that can eek out tough wins #lcfc

They are up their for a reason. They play like a team. They defend like a team. They attack like a team. #LCFC
