Swansa City stunned Spurs as a bizarre own goal from Harry Kane put the home side in front after a frantic first half, culminating in a 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Swansea took an early lead against the run of play with a goal from Andre Ayew with Jefferson Montero providing the swinging cross for the Ghanaian to head home in the 16th minute. The Swans kept up the momentum after the goal with a good attacking front.

However, the home side conceded a dangerous free kick which was planted in the net by Christian Eriksen in the 27th minute. Fabianski committed himself too early, leaving him in the wrong spot to attempt a save. Spurs looked to be back on the front foot with good play again from Erikson. His second free kick was saved this time, however.

Five minutes later, Spurs superstar Kane turned the ball into his own net. The striker attempted to boot away Jonjo Shelvey’s corner but only managed to slice it into his own goal.

The second half was just as exciting, with end-to-end football but the Swans were the better side. An early shot from Kane suggested he could make up for his earlier mistake, but it was saved by Fabianki’s legs. A late exciting header from Swansea man Federico Fernandez produced an outstanding save from Hugo Lloris to keep the game level.

Tottenham will rue the missed opportunity of three points, but Garry Monk and his side will be pleased to end their run of three losses.
