Bafetimbi Gomis poor in front of goal
Montero provided for Gomis many times, with perfectly cushioned crosses which he placed over the bar. Gomis has been in excellent form this season, but the French striker could not convert in front of goal. It was down to Ayew to bang most of the shots on target.
One chance in particular that stuck out was a missed header. An accurate and perfectly weighted cross was delivered by Montero, but Gomis timed his jump incorrectly, sending the ball high over the bar. Small mistakes like this need to be adjusted in his game.
The two strikers have been Swansea’s backbone when it comes to scoring goals, but players suffer dry spells in games and for them, it is vital Gomis’ goal drought ends soon.
