West Brom have won the race to sign Welsh striker Hal Robson-Kanu on an initial two-year deal with the potential for an extra season.

Robson-Kanu has been weighing up his future since the recent European Championships, having been released by Reading at the end of the last campaign.

“It was an important decision for me and my family and we took our time,” Robson-Kanu told wba.co.uk.

“But it’s a fantastic club and manager and I’m really happy to be here. “

“I’m particularly pleased to be back in the Premier League. I am grateful for everything that Reading have done for me and I enjoyed my time there, but it’s great to take this step.”

“It’s good to have someone who knows about a new club to tell you about it and James [Chester] spoke highly about Albion.”

“I’ve got no worries about my fitness. I’m a fit lad and I’ll be more than confident when called upon.”

“It’s about the group, the squad being successful and I am really looking forward to playing my part.”

“Everybody enjoyed watching Hal’s contribution to the Welsh performances at the Euros and we’re pleased to have him on board,” said manager Tony Pulis.
